宋真宗密令白玉堂送一封密信给一位朝中重要人物，死亡却不想对方看信后，死亡毒发身亡。为查清真相，白玉堂找解药过程中，发现了被囚禁的棋仙，揭开了白虎门勾结大辽，利用十年前的一桩宫廷秘闻刺杀皇上的真相，与棋仙一起，粉碎了敌人的阴谋。
