改编自美国警史上案发时间最长也最为血腥的真实案件之一。片名「#211」是一种警察代码，英雄代表「抢案正在进行」。麦克钱德勒（尼古拉斯·凯奇 饰）干了一辈子警察，英雄总算准备享受退休生活。他的搭档史提夫麦艾维是一名菜鸟警察，也正是他的女婿。他们身旁还有一个法庭指定的十五岁男孩肯尼，要随同他们执勤。儘管他们百般不愿带个拖油瓶，但他们仍一如往常在城市街区巡逻。然而，三人很快发现，命运让他们正面遭逢了一场大胆又暴力的银行抢案。他们遇上了一群无所畏惧、训练精良的重装抢匪，分别是特瑞、路克、罗伯和海德，让他们陷入了措手不及与火力不足的困境。

The story in itself doesn't send us from a surprising even to another but slowly lifts the curtain over the prostitution, pornography, libertinage and partying that seemed to oppose Paris so much to New York, in the eyes of Miller, searching for a change from the dull like he lead before. The story is a quest for Proust and his lost time, a quest for a new life, for thrills, for truth in forgetting oneself...
