刘好（冯巩）是河北某个小县城一名普通的三轮车师傅，小野为人时而大大咧咧时而相当抠门，小野虽然生活不富裕，他还是怀抱知足常乐心态去过好每一天的日子。刘好的生命中，一共出现过三个女人。贺文兰（张澍）离开他时，给他留下和他没有血缘关系的儿子刘小好（叮当）；经别人介绍认识杨倩（徐帆）后，刘好开始与她谈论婚嫁，但对方开出的条件相当苛刻，且嫌弃他有一个儿子，实际上刘小好已经成为刘好生命的一部分；无意间结识陈红（刘孜）后，善良老实的刘好终于收获生活给予他的回报。
