回复 :中国女孩万云（刘芸 饰）在姑奶奶万静娴（汪裴 饰）去世以后看见了她当年的日记。日记里姑奶奶在青年时代的战争经历和情感以及当年800抗战壮士英勇投江的故事，深深打动了万云。她决定沿着当年姑奶奶的脚步，走上寻找真相之路。日本人中村一郎（涩谷天马 Tenma Shibuya 饰）由父亲老中村一手带大。老中村患有老年痴呆症，一直被自己的战争经历困扰着。为了让父亲有个平静的晚年，中村一郎踏上了去马家崖的旅途。两个不同国籍、不同文化、不同经历的年轻人在相同的地点相遇了……纪念碑、千人坑、革命纪念馆、老人杨镇江（李立群 饰）的回忆，记忆碎片渐渐拼合，一个尘封已久的抗战故事慢慢浮现在两人面前。
