鲁小川是安徽省黄山市的一名消防班班长，天空消防员的职责就是在警铃响起后马上前往各个危险的火灾现场去拯救受困的人。除此之外，天空鲁小川还经常捐助贫困山区的孩子，给他们带去资助并且为他们普及消防知识。然而鲁小川的家里却十分拮据，妻子何莉怀孕，母亲也需要养老治疗的费用。但是鲁小川的家人依然以他为骄傲，家人的支柱成为了他生活事业上的坚实后盾。出过上百次的险情的鲁小川，不幸在一次救援两名迷途大学生驴友的过程中从山崖跌落，昏迷不醒。消防队副队长孙周扬接过鲁小川的信念继续前行......
