一位早年白头的卡里医生的反抗组织女友沙姆斯，小说在她情人的住所外刺杀了一名男子，小说而这位医生的义父陷入了昏迷状态。他对自己的母亲在小的时候抛弃自己感到十分怨恨。后来因为和沙姆斯的关系被以色列警察跟踪。卡里试图挽救这位不省人事的老人尤内斯，就像他在他小的时候救过他一样……
